[IIFT/XAT/TISS/ACIO/AO - GK] Important International Boundary Lines

In upcoming exams like IIFT/XAT/TISS/ACIO/AO you can expect a lot of questions from such trash topics.

Thus, today we shall try and remember some of the famous International Boundary Lines.

• 38th Parallel : North Korea and South Korea 
•  49th Parallel : USA and Canada Radcliffe Line : India and Pakistan 
•  Durand Line : Afganistan and Pakistan 
•  Maginot Line : Germany and France 
•  Hindenburg Line : Germany and Poland 
• 17th Parallel : North Vietnam and South Vietnam 
• McMahon Line : India and China
  

 How to memorize this crap ?

1.There is no need to introduce Barney and Robin to 'How I met your mother' fans. However, for others they are characters from a American TV Sit-Com HIYM.  Barney is American(other than being 'Awesome') and Robin is from Canada.

They start loving each other since season 4 (which is incorrect) but broke up at the end of season 9.

Thus boundary between them is 49th Parallel.(इससे  ज्यादा नहीं गिर सकता याद कराने के लिए )

2. The focus now is on India and neighbor countries.

First have a look at the image given below.The boundary between India and China is 'McMahon' Line which is real name of the person who played 'Sambha' in Sholay. In the image below, He is keeping a watch on the India-China Border and keeping  Gabbar informed of the number of intruders.

Radcliffe Line is between India and Pakistan.(It's famous-No trick required)

Durand Line : Consider these points

• Durand Cup is a football competition in India.
• John Abraham (Indian Actor) himself is a big football fan and owns 'North East United Football Club' in Indian Super League (Imp).
• There is a movie 'Kabul Express' starring John as its Lead Actor.
• Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan.

Long story short :

 Durand Line is the boundary between Afganistan and Pakistan.(एक तीर से कई शिकार)

   

 3. Have a look at he image below. The character with the gun (which I have accidentally trimmed) is Col.Hans Landa,SS (Nazi) Officer [Oscar Winning performance by Chrisopher Waltz in the movie 'Inglorious Basterds'] and the girl is Shoshanna, French Jew. In the movie it has been shown that Landa is particularly fond of Milk.

[Thus, when he visits Shoshanna he asks her to bring him a glass of milk but she instead prepares 'Maggi' for him which he do 'not' like. Thus Maginot is the boundary between France and Germany.

This makes Landa furious and he kills Shoshanna's boy friend who is from Poland.]-मनगढंत

Ofcourse, this is not being not shown in the movie hence 'Hidden' which makes Hidndenburg Line the boundary between Germany and Poland.

Korean 'बकर ' :

Samsung is a South Korean Company and its product Galaxy Note 3 costs around Rs.38,000 which Jim Kim Jong-un does not like as North Korea is famous for nothing but its Military audacity.

Thus 38th parallel is the boundary between North Korea and South Korea.

Likewise,

17th Parallel is the boundary between North and South Vietnam.
